SUMMARY
1.Allah is the Arabic name for God, but it is not exclusively an Islamic name.
The name comes from the Aramaic { الآرامِيَّة } and Hebrew { العِبْرية } names for God, Allaha { اللَّهَا }and Elohim { ايلوهيم }.
- Allah is the same God referred to by earlier prophets including Abraham, Moses and Jesus (Peace and blessings be upon all of them).
3.The characteristics of Almighty Allah are unlimited and cannot be counted or described in any words, but some characteristics are mentioned in the Quran, such as:
- Allah is the Most Lovingly Beneficent, The Most Kind and Giving, and The Most Gracious, The Infinitely Good.
- Allah is The One who continually showers all of creation with blessings and prosperity without any disparity.
- Allah is The One who is most kind, loving and merciful.
- Allah is The One who loves and cherishes all of creation.
- Allah is the Creator of all things.
- Allah is the only one true God.
- Allah has a perfect power.
- Allah has absolute knowledge.
- Allah is the knower of unseen, the king of the world, the All-Holy and Peace, the Guardian of Faith and the All-Preserve.
- Allah has ninety-nine names as mentioned in the prophet Mohammed`s Hadiths.
- Allah has revealed His names repeatedly in the Quran primarily for us to understand who He is.
- Every prophet was sent unto his own nation for their guidance, but the Message of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was general for all mankind and jinn.
- The purpose of creating mankind is to worship Almighty Allah and obey Him and His messengers (peace be upon them all).
