Tafsir Surat Al Fatiha – The verse “Iyyaka Na’budu Wa-iyyaka Nasta’een”

Speaker:

Dr. Yasir Qadhi

Topic:

Discussing the meaning of “Iyyaka Na’budu Wa-iyyaka Nasta’een,”

Description:

n this 4th verse, “Iyyaka Na’budu Wa-iyyaka Nasta’een,” Allah changes the tense from the 3rd to 2nd person, where we say “You alone do we worship” to translate knowledge of Tawhid, Risala and Akhira into the action of Worship. It is as if we are having a direct conversation with Allah. First part of the surah is a praise, and now this second half is a dialogue.
